Maybe you are a runner who uses CBD gels for sports recovery or a mother or father who uses hakunaOil oils daily. You have a trip around the corner and you don't know if you can take your CBD products on the plane. Will it cause any kind of problem for you at the airport security control? Are the laws and regulations different in other countries? Next, we will answer all your questions.
Understanding the composition of CBD products
Before talking about transporting CBD by plane, it is important to understand the composition of some products derived from industrial hemp, such as oils, cosmetic creams and sports gels. CBD oils can be Isolated or Full Spectrum . At ProfessorCBD you will find both types under the hakunaOil brand. The difference between the two is that, while the former contain only CBD in their oil base , the latter contain CBD along with other natural elements of the hemp plant, including a minimum amount of THC, the element that causes what is commonly known as “high” and is associated with marijuana. All ProfessorCBD oils contain less than 0.3% THC, as required by law in Spain, a ridiculous amount that is not associated with any intoxicating or psychoactive effect. Therefore, it is legal to carry them on an airplane on any domestic flight (within Spain). Although, if you feel calmer, you can choose to bring with you a hakunaOil Mint Aroma Isolate (0% THC) or any of our hakuLab cosmetic products , which also do not contain THC.
Tips for flying within Spain with CBD products safely
Now that you know the composition of CBD oils and cosmetics and that the short answer to whether you can fly with them within Spain is “yes”, let's delve into the requirements to do so with maximum safety guarantees.
- Never fly with CBD flower. La Cordobesa CBD buds are classified as aromatic products in Spain and their sale is completely legal. However, at first glance it is impossible to distinguish them from a marijuana bud (with a high THC content), and they can pose a problem for you at an airport security check. In Spain, the possession and consumption of marijuana in public places are penalized by Organic Law 4/2015, of March 30. Therefore, this variety of cannabis is one of the substances prohibited to carry on an airplane by the State Aviation Safety Agency. To avoid confusion that could ruin your trip, we advise you to always use your La Cordobesa CBD flowers in the privacy of your home.
- Carry your hakunaOil CBD oils in the box inside your toiletry bag. Thus, in the event of an oil control, the security agent will be able to see the list of ingredients and you can even download the analysis of our oil through a QR code that is printed on the box. It is completely legal and safe to fly with our CBD oils within Spain, as they comply with current regulations. In addition, the jars are 30 ml, so they do not exceed the 100 ml allowed per container of liquid to carry in hand luggage.
- Within Spain, don't worry about cosmetics . CBD or cannabidiol is a regulated and permitted cosmetic product in Spain, so you will not have any problems on a flight if you take your CBD Facial Cream for Mature Skin or the Winning Heat Effect Gel with you, for example. All our creams are 0% THC.
- Check the airline's specific policies. In addition to general regulations, each airline may have its own policies regarding the transportation of CBD products. It is advisable to check with the airline before traveling.
Can you fly internationally with CBD products?
Flying internationally with CBD products is a much more complicated issue, as regulations for the allowable THC level and classification of products change from country to country . Some countries do not allow CBD, others only if there is a medical prescription, some countries allow THC levels higher than 0.6% and others do not have a problem with the entry of CBD as long as it is 0% THC.
Therefore, our recommendation is that you obtain legal advice if you are going to travel abroad with CBD products; or, if you cannot do so, do not take them with you on a trip. They will be waiting for you when you return, :).
